Our curiosity naturally led us to decipher the INCI lists of these products to discover that the natural polysaccharide "CHONDRUS CRISPUS EXTRACT" or carrageenan gum was common for this type of application.
All that remains is to build a hydrogel patch formula by combining it with other polysaccharides, humectants, preservatives...and to check that it can be dissolved in a glass of hot water.
